A
little fun while I was on holidays - two weeks in California (+Las
Vegas).
12 Galaxies is a great venue, symmetrical with a high stage and an all-round
balcony above so you can look directly down on the band and check them for
bald spots (there are none) while they play and you play pool.
This was billed as 'Dema's Birthday Party', it's her in the last
photo, and sure enough she got a shout out and song dedication.
Loud, loose and rocking like a bastard, Mudhoney were the band
that kick started the Seattle grunge bubble at the tail end of
the eighties with the EP 'Superfuzz Bigmuff' (guitarist Steve Turner
had a Big Muff pedal on his effects board tonight) and the single
'Touch Me I'm Sick' - which they played tonight, obviously, getting
the biggest reaction. |
